Google Announces Algorithm Changes – Hummingbird

 Hummingbird Another Google update is announced today!   Clearly, Google continues to place more emphasis on long tail (longer, more specific searches).  One would assume that the more detailed a search query is, the more certain the searcher is as to what he/she is looking for.  Studies have shown that longer tail searches result in higher conversion.  What isn’t known, is the impact these latest changes will have on more broad, category-type searches.  The changes also seem to encourage people to search for answers to questions.  Already a strategy for business, this places more emphasis on social related activity that allows you to showcase your expertise by answering questions.  And of course, this update contains numerous mobile related enhancements.  All the more reason to make sure your website is mobile friendly
